SOLOPAN – founded and owned by Jacek Szumlas – was the first independent film acquisition & distribution company in Central Europe, set up right after the wall went down and operating in Poland since 1990.
After 30 years of collaboration with the likes of Robert Altman; Bernardo Bertolucci; Jane Campion; David Cronenberg; Emir Kusturica; David Lynch; Ken Loach; Louis Malle; Werner Herzog; Takeshi Kitano; Krzysztof Kieślowski; Agnieszka Holland and Andrzej Wajda + many many more and with over 300 titles in it’s catalogue.
Post Covid – Solopan shifted more towards film production, being involved in several domestic indie film projects, as well as, some foreign films, like the Berlin ‘Crystal Bear’ winner: “Butterfly Kisses” produced together with Paradox House and more recently: “Dominion” – produced together with Film Colony and John Malkovich – as well as – co-producing a few others.
Solopan Unlimited is always on the lookout for original, edgy indie projects and new emerging talents, besides also of course staying in touch with the already established collaborators, with the likes of John Malkovich; Paweł Pawlikowski; Taika Waititi; Jim Jarmusch and the Coen brothers – to name but a few.
